Actions and webhooks. Let the agent call your tools.
An action is a call to another system the agent can make during a conversation: create a ticket in Zendesk, add a contact to HubSpot, look up a payment in Stripe, or call your own endpoint.
Install a template
- 1Open Deploy → Integrations, choose Browse templates on the Actions & webhooks card and pick a provider.
- 2Follow How to get your credentials, fill in the connection settings and choose Verify connection.
- 3Untick any actions you don't want and choose Install.
| Template | Actions |
|---|---|
| HubSpot | Search Contact, Create Contact, Create Deal, Create Ticket |
| Zendesk | Create Ticket, Search Tickets |
| Salesforce | Search Contact, Create Lead |
| Slack (incoming webhook) | Send Notification |
| Stripe | Lookup Customer, Lookup Payment, List Recent Charges, Check Subscription |
| Google Sheets | Save Lead, Log Feedback, Log Custom Data |
Create your own action
Choose New action and fill in:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name and When to use it | Describe clearly when the agent should run it, for example "When a customer asks where their repair is". This is how the agent recognises the moment. |
| Method and Endpoint URL | GET, POST, PUT, PATCH or DELETE, and the full address. Use {{parameter}} for values from the chat, for example https://api.example.com/repairs/{{repair_id}}. |
| Headers | Authentication goes here, for example Authorization: Bearer {{api_key}}. Values are stored encrypted. |
| Body template (JSON) | For POST, PUT and PATCH. |
| Parameters | Each value the agent must collect from the customer: name, type (text, number, email, phone), description and whether it is required. |
| Response mapping | How the agent should read the response and present it. |
| Trigger keywords | Optional words that help the agent recognise the moment. |
If a required value is missing, the agent asks the customer for it first. Calls time out after 8 seconds, do not follow redirects and cannot reach private or internal addresses. If your endpoint returns an error, the agent offers to connect the customer with your team.
Test and monitor
Test runs an action with values you enter and shows the status, response time and response. Verify (or Verify all) checks each endpoint and marks it Healthy or Needs attention (for example when its credentials are refused). Switch an action off without deleting it with its toggle.
For events sent to your systems automatically (a handover, a new lead, knowledge ready), use the API's signed webhooks instead. See the API reference.
