In short
- 1In SimplyBoost, open Webflow (Integrations → Webflow) and click Connect Webflow.
- 2On Webflow, choose the sites SimplyBoost may use and click Authorize App.
- 3Back in SimplyBoost, pick the assistant for a site and click Add chat.
- 4Publish your site in Webflow. The chat appears on every page.
No code is needed. You do not paste a snippet into Webflow's custom code settings; SimplyBoost adds its script through Webflow for you, and you only publish.
Before you start
- You need a SimplyBoost account. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial at get.simplyboost.io.
- Only an owner or editor of your SimplyBoost team can connect Webflow and add the chat. Support agents can see the sites but not change them.
- You need access to the Webflow sites in your Webflow Workspace, so you can approve SimplyBoost and publish.
- The assistant learns from your published site. Add your site's address as a website source in Knowledge Base so the assistant reads your pages, CMS collection pages included.
- Any Webflow site works, including free sites on a webflow.io address. Unlike pasted custom code, the chat added by the app does not need a paid Webflow site plan.
Step 1: Connect Webflow
- 1In SimplyBoost, open Integrations → Webflow, or go straight to get.simplyboost.io/webflow.
- 2Click Connect Webflow. Webflow opens and shows what SimplyBoost asks for.
- 3Tick the sites (or the whole Workspace) SimplyBoost may use and click Authorize App.
- 4You are back in SimplyBoost and see Webflow connected, with your sites listed under Your Webflow sites.
If you click Cancel on Webflow instead, nothing is connected and SimplyBoost gets no access. You can connect again at any time.
To add sites from another Webflow Workspace later, click Connect more sites and choose them on Webflow.
Step 2: Add the chat to a site
- 1Next to the site, choose the assistant that should answer there (shown when your team has more than one).
- 2Click Add chat. SimplyBoost adds its script to the site in Webflow and shows Chat added · publish to go live.
In Webflow you can see the script under Site settings → Custom code → Code added by Apps, listed as SimplyBoost AI Agent.
Step 3: Publish your site
Webflow does not let apps publish a site for you, so the chat goes live with your next publish.
- 1In Webflow, click Publish (in the Designer or on the site's settings page).
- 2Choose your domains, for example the webflow.io address or your own domain, and click Publish to selected domains.
Step 4: Check that it works
- 1In SimplyBoost, click Check site next to the site. When the chat is on your published site you see The chat is live on your site and the site shows as live.
- 2Open your live site in a new browser window. The chat button appears in the bottom corner of every page.
- 3Ask a question your pages answer. You can also test from Optimize in SimplyBoost; the test chat there is the same chat your visitors see.
Make it yours
| Where | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Knowledge Base | Add your Webflow site as a website source so the assistant reads your published pages, CMS collection pages included. Upload PDFs, price lists, manuals and FAQs, and write approved answers the assistant sends word for word. When you change pages, click Refresh now on the website source, or set it to refresh automatically. |
| Knowledge Base → Missing answers | The questions the assistant could not answer from your content, grouped by topic. Write an answer once and it covers similar questions. A weekly email lists them with a summary of what the assistant did. |
| Widget | Colours, position, chat button, greeting and suggested questions. Changes show on your site without publishing in Webflow again. |
| Optimize | Tone, language, the contact form, handover settings and the escalation email. |
| Conversations and Tickets | When a visitor asks for a person, or the assistant cannot help, the conversation is handed to you as live chat. You reply from Conversations and the visitor sees it in the same chat. Each handover opens a ticket you can assign, annotate and track. |
| Leads | Visitors who want to hear back leave a name, email or phone number in a short form inside the chat. Leads sit here with the conversation they came from. |
The assistant replies in the language the visitor writes in. The chat's buttons and labels are available in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Italian. To fix one language for every reply, choose it in Optimize.
What the app adds to your site
SimplyBoost adds one script, and only to the sites you add the chat to: a small loader in the site footer, on every page, through Webflow's Custom Code API.
- It is served from get.simplyboost.io at a fixed, versioned address (
webflow-loader-1.0.0.js) and pinned with an integrity hash, so it cannot change after you install it. - Its only setting is your assistant's ID (
data-sb-bot). It loads the SimplyBoost chat widget from get.simplyboost.io, which shows the chat button and window. - The chat sends the messages your visitors type to SimplyBoost to answer them, and keeps the chat session in the visitor's browser. It does not read or change your page content, forms or fields.
- SimplyBoost never publishes your site and never touches your own custom code or other apps' scripts.
What SimplyBoost may do in Webflow: read your sites (to list them), and read and write custom code (to add and remove its own script). Your Webflow access is stored encrypted on our servers only and is deleted when you disconnect.
Plans and billing
The Webflow app is included in every SimplyBoost plan. Your plan is billed by SimplyBoost, not through Webflow, and every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.
| Starter | Growth | Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price a month | €39 | €89 | €169 |
| AI replies a month | 500 | 2,000 | 6,000 |
| AI assistants | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| Websites per assistant | 1 | 3 | 10 |
| Pages read per website | 50 | 150 | 1,000 |
| Team members | 2 | 5 | 15 |
Yearly billing saves 20%. See Plans and billing for add-ons and how replies are counted. If your plan ends, the chat is hidden from your site until you choose a plan again; the script stays in Webflow until you remove it.
Remove the chat or disconnect
- Remove the chat from one site: click Remove next to the site in SimplyBoost, then publish the site in Webflow. Only SimplyBoost's script is removed.
- Disconnect Webflow: click Disconnect Webflow in SimplyBoost. The chat is removed from every site, and SimplyBoost's access to Webflow is revoked and deleted. Publish each site afterwards so the chat disappears from the live site.
- Removed the app in Webflow instead? SimplyBoost notices within a day and shows Webflow access ended. If the chat still shows on a site, delete SimplyBoost AI Agent under Site settings → Custom code → Code added by Apps and publish.
Your SimplyBoost account, assistant, knowledge and conversations are kept, so you can connect again later. To delete your SimplyBoost data permanently, email support@simplyboost.io.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The chat does not appear on my site | Publish the site in Webflow after Add chat, then click Check site. Look at the live site, not the Designer or preview. Check that your plan or trial is active (Settings → Billing and plans) and that replies are not paused. |
| "Not live yet. Publish the site in Webflow, then check again." | The chat is added but the published site does not have it yet. Publish in Webflow and check again. |
| "Your site is password-protected, so we cannot see it." | Check site cannot open protected pages. Look at the site yourself while signed in, or remove the password. |
| "No sites were shared with SimplyBoost." | You did not tick any site on Webflow. Click Connect more sites and choose your sites. |
| "Only owners and editors on an active plan can connect Webflow." | Ask a team owner or editor, or choose a plan in Settings → Billing and plans. |
| "Webflow access ended" | SimplyBoost was removed in Webflow, or its access was revoked. Click Reconnect. If the chat still shows on a site, see Remove the chat above. |
| "This Webflow site already has SimplyBoost from another account." | The site is connected to a different SimplyBoost account. Remove the chat there first, or contact us. |
| "Webflow didn't accept the change." | Webflow was briefly unavailable. Try again in a minute. |
| The assistant does not know about a page | Make sure the page is published, then click Refresh now on the website source in Knowledge Base. Check that your plan's page limit has not been reached. |
