Intercom pricing, and what a month actually costs. Seat prices, Fin outcomes and the add-ons that tend to grow the bill.

Intercom bills in two parts: seats and AI outcomes. On annual billing, Essential costs $29 a month per seat, Advanced $85 and Expert $132. The Fin AI agent adds $0.99 per outcome, or $9.99 for a qualified lead, charged once per conversation. Add-ons such as Copilot cost extra.

How does Fin AI agent pricing work?

Fin has its own meter. Intercom bills it per outcome rather than per seat, and its Fin outcomes help article says a conversation is charged for one outcome at most.

OutcomePriceWhen it is charged
Resolution$0.99The customer asks for no further help after Fin's last answer
Procedure handoff$0.99A Procedure you configured completes and hands off to a person or workflow
Disqualification$0.99Fin decides the prospect doesn't match your criteria
Qualification$9.99Fin matches the prospect to your criteria and routes them
Not charged$0Escalations, failed Procedures, spam and abandoned conversations

Fin can also run standalone on another helpdesk. You then pay no seat costs, but there is a minimum monthly commitment, for example 50 outcomes. You can set a monthly outcome limit.

Which Intercom add-ons cost extra?

Once you're past seats and Fin, add-ons are usually what pushes the monthly bill up.

Copilot
$29 per agent a month on annual billing, or $35 if you pay monthly. Each month includes 10 free Copilot conversations.
Proactive Support Plus
$99 a month, which includes 500 messages.
WhatsApp and SMS
WhatsApp is charged per conversation and SMS per message, and both vary by region and volume. There's no public rate card, so Intercom sends you to its calculator.
Trial
You can try it free for 14 days, and you don't need a credit card.

What does Intercom really cost? A worked example

Say you run a three-person support team on Essential and pay annually. We used only the published prices above.

Line itemCalculationMonthly cost
3 Essential seats3 × $29$87
500 Fin resolutions500 × $0.99$495
Copilot for 3 agents3 × $29$87
TotalBefore WhatsApp or SMS fees$669

The Fin line is the one that moves. Every conversation Fin resolves adds to it, so your real bill depends on how many that is.

Is there an Intercom discount for startups?

Yes. Intercom runs an early-stage program for companies that aren't customers yet, have up to $10M in funding and employ fewer than 15 people.

Year 1
93% off. On top of that you get 300 Fin outcomes and 15 Fin qualifications free each month.
Year 2
50% off, with 150 free Fin outcomes a month.
Year 3
The discount drops to 25%, and you get 75 free Fin outcomes a month.

What changed at Intercom in 2026?

On 12 May 2026 the company renamed itself Fin. Intercom is still the name of its helpdesk platform. Then on 10 September 2026, Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin and said Fin will continue to serve its customers.

When we checked intercom.com on 15 September 2026, pricing hadn't changed. If you're about to sign a multi-year contract, it's worth asking how pricing and terms will be handled under the new owner.

How does Intercom pricing compare with a flat-priced AI agent?

If what your team mostly needs is AI answers on your website, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, a flat plan can be easier to budget for. We go into more detail in our Intercom alternative comparison.
