A Squarespace chatbot that answers from your own pages. One snippet in Code Injection. It reads your site, answers visitors, captures leads and hands over to you.

You add a chatbot to Squarespace by pasting one snippet into the footer field under Code Injection, which Squarespace offers on its Core, Plus and Advanced plans and some legacy plans, not on Basic. SimplyBoost's chatbot then reads your pages, your PDFs and your FAQs and answers visitors only from those, in their language. It asks for a name and email when someone shows interest, books meetings in Google Calendar, and hands the conversation to you when a person is needed. Free 7-day trial, then €39 a month.

How to add a chatbot to Squarespace

Five minutes, once the agent has read your site. The only requirement on Squarespace's side is a plan that allows code injection.

  1. 1

    Create the agent

Sign up, pick a role, paste your Squarespace domain. The agent reads your pages in the background.

  2. 2

    Copy the snippet

On the Widget page choose Go live and copy the snippet for an HTML site.

  3. 3

    Open Code Injection

In Squarespace, open the Code Injection panel and paste the snippet into the Footer field, which goes before the closing body tag on every page. Save.

  4. 4

    Reload your site

The chat bubble shows on every page. Ask it a question your customers ask.

  5. 5

    Set leads and handover

Which details to ask for, and where a request for a person goes: email, dashboard or Slack.

Which Squarespace plans allow a chatbot

A chatbot needs a script on your site, and Squarespace lets you add scripts through Code Injection only on some plans. From Squarespace's help centre article on code injection, updated 16 September 2026, read on 29 October 2026.

Legacy plans (Personal, Business, Commerce)Business and Commerce yes; Personal noAs the Code Injection panel shows

Squarespace renamed its plans in 2025 and keeps older sites on legacy plans; the rule to check is whether your site shows the Code Injection panel. If it does, the install on this page works. Checkout pages never take custom code, so the chat does not show there.

What the chatbot does on a Squarespace site

Answers from your pages

Paste your domain and it reads the site: up to 150 pages on Starter, 500 on Growth, 1,500 on Pro, re-read daily or weekly. PDFs and documents cover what is not on the site.

Captures leads

Name, email, phone or company, asked for with a form card when a visitor shows interest. Scored hot, warm or cold and emailed to you.

Books meetings

Connect Google Calendar and it offers free slots, creates the event and confirms by email. Useful for studios, consultants and practices on Squarespace.

Hands over to you

A request for a person reaches you by email, in the dashboard or in Slack, with the conversation attached.

Squarespace Commerce

Product pages are read as content, so product questions get answered. Order lookup and cart actions exist for Shopify only.

Matches your design

Colours, position, greeting and starter questions, with a self-hosted font so nothing loads from Google Fonts.

Squarespace chatbot questions

Yes, on a plan with Code Injection: Core, Plus and Advanced, and the legacy Business and Commerce plans. Paste the SimplyBoost snippet into the footer field of the Code Injection panel and the chat shows on every page except checkout. The Basic plan (and the legacy Personal plan) does not allow custom code, so no chatbot can be added to it.

Squarespace has no built-in chatbot that answers from your content. A chatbot comes from a third party and is added through Code Injection.

Yes, from your own pages and documents. It reads the site, answers only from that content, and tells the visitor what it can help with when a question is outside it.

The chatbot reads your product pages and answers questions about them, captures leads and hands over. It does not look up Squarespace orders or build carts; those actions exist for Shopify only.
