What is an AI reply?
An AI reply is one message written and sent by an AI agent in a conversation with a customer. Some AI chatbot tools use it as their billing unit: your plan includes a set number of AI replies a month, and messages your team writes are not counted.
Also called: AI message, AI response, bot reply.

What counts and what doesn't
- Counts: every message the AI agent writes in your website chat, on WhatsApp or on Instagram.
- Counts: the DMs your Instagram comment-to-DM rules send, because the agent sends them for you.
- Doesn't count: replies your team writes, in the dashboard, in a Slack thread or after a handover.
- Doesn't count: the customer's own messages.
How many AI replies do you need?
A conversation usually holds a few replies. A question about opening hours may take one; a customer comparing two products might take five. Multiply your conversations a month by the agent's replies in an average chat.
A webshop with 150 chats a month at about 3 agent replies each uses roughly 450 AI replies, which fits in a plan with 500.
AI replies in SimplyBoost
Every plan is priced by AI replies: Starter is €39 a month with 500, Growth €89 with 2,000 and Pro €169 with 6,000, with a custom plan above that. The allowance resets every month, and the Messages number on the Performance page shows what counts towards your plan, per day.
You get an email at 80% and at 100%. At the limit the agent pauses its replies until the allowance resets, visitors see a short notice, and you can upgrade at any time. There are no overage charges.
Questions people ask
Do my team's replies count as AI replies?
No. Only messages the AI agent writes count. When your team takes over a conversation, from the dashboard or a Slack thread, their replies don't touch your allowance.
Do Instagram comment-to-DM messages count as AI replies?
Yes. The DMs your comment-to-DM rules send count as AI replies, the same as the agent's answers when someone writes back.
What happens when I run out of AI replies?
In SimplyBoost the agent pauses its replies until your allowance resets next month, and visitors see a short notice. You can upgrade at any time, and you are never charged for overage.
