What is per-resolution pricing?
Per-resolution pricing means an AI support tool charges you for every conversation its AI resolves, instead of a fixed monthly price. Intercom's Fin AI agent, for example, costs $0.99 per outcome, on top of the price of each seat.
Also called: outcome-based pricing, pay per resolution, per-outcome pricing.

How it works
The vendor counts each conversation its AI handled without a person and bills a fee for it at the end of the month. What counts as "resolved" is set by the vendor, and the fee usually comes on top of seat licences for your team.
The trade-off
- In its favour: you pay more only when the AI does more work.
- Against it: the bill moves with your volume, so a launch, a sale or a delivery problem makes the busiest month also the most expensive one, and it is hard to budget in advance.
The flat alternative
SimplyBoost charges a flat monthly price with a set number of AI replies: €39 for 500, €89 for 2,000 and €169 for 6,000. There are no fees per seat or per resolution, you get an email at 80% and at 100% of your allowance, and there are no overage charges.
Questions people ask
Which tools use per-resolution pricing?
Intercom's Fin AI agent is the best-known example, at $0.99 per outcome. Other support platforms price their AI agents per automated resolution too. Always check the vendor's current pricing page.
Is per-resolution pricing cheaper?
It depends on your volume. At low volume it can be cheap. As volume grows, the cost grows with it, while a flat plan stays the same.
What happens on a flat plan when I use all my AI replies?
In SimplyBoost the agent pauses its replies until the allowance resets next month, and visitors see a short notice. You can upgrade at any time, and there are no surprise charges.
