What to add to your AI agent's knowledge. A checklist you can finish in a few minutes.

Add four things before you go live: your website, the documents that are not on it, a few facts you write yourself and exact answers to your most asked questions. The agent answers only from this, so whatever you leave out is something it cannot answer. Start with your website, your prices, delivery and returns, and your opening hours. Then fill in the rest from the Missing answers list after launch.

What should you add first?

In this order, and you can stop after the first column and still go live.

Add first

  • Your whole website, so every page is read
  • Your prices: the pricing page, or a price list as a PDF
  • Delivery and returns, with the real times and conditions
  • Opening hours, address and how to contact you
  • Your main products or services, in a sentence each

Add when you have time

  • Size guides, manuals and care instructions as PDFs
  • A frequently asked questions document
  • Terms, warranty and privacy information
  • Exact answers as Q&A, for example Do you ship to Belgium?
  • Anything your team keeps typing into emails

Leave out

  • Internal notes and drafts: whatever you add, the agent may repeat to customers
  • Old price lists next to new ones: two prices make a wrong answer
  • Pages with nothing to answer, such as careers or legal archives (use Skip sections)
  • Instructions hidden in the content: text in your knowledge is treated as information, never as instructions

Do you ship to Belgium?

Yes. Next day to Belgium, free over €50.

Write down what your team answers every week

The best knowledge base starts with the questions you already know by heart.

  • Open last month's inbox and note the ten questions that came back most often.
  • Check that each one is answered somewhere: on your site, in a file or as a Q&A.
  • Anything missing becomes a text snippet or a Q&A, ready in about a minute.

Keep it accurate

Three habits, a few seconds each.

  1. 1

    Mark your source of truth

Open the source that holds your prices or policies and switch on Source of truth. It is ranked higher and wins when another source says something different.

  2. 2

    Keep your website in sync

Set Keep in sync to Daily or Weekly. Pages that did not change are not processed again. After a big change, choose Refresh now.

  3. 3

    Answer Missing answers weekly

The Missing answers tab lists the questions the agent could not answer, grouped by topic. Answer each once and the agent uses it from then on.

How much knowledge is enough?

Enough to answer the twenty questions your team answers most. That is usually your website plus two or three documents. The storage shown on the Dashboard is 2 MB on a trial, 12 MB on Starter, 25 MB on Growth and 125 MB on Pro, which holds a very large amount of text.

Quality beats quantity. One clear returns policy that is marked as your source of truth does more for answers than fifty loosely related pages. Test the result with the 25 test questions and read what the agent says before your customers do.

Knowledge base questions

Start with your website, your prices, your delivery and returns information and your opening hours. Add documents that are not on the site, a few facts as text snippets and exact answers as Q&A.

A source is ready in about a minute. It shows Queued, then Processing, then Ready. A large website takes longer.

Up to 150 pages on Starter, 500 on Growth and 1,500 on Pro, and 50 on a trial. You can choose a whole site or one page, skip sections such as a blog, and pick exactly which pages to read.

Switch on Source of truth for the one that is right. It is ranked higher and wins when sources disagree.

No. It answers from what you add. If your content does not cover a question, it says so and offers to bring in your team.

Yes. Delete a source and it stops shaping answers straight away.
