How to build a Shopify chatbot. No code, five minutes, from sign-in to live.
You can build a Shopify chatbot with SimplyBoost in about 5 minutes without writing any code. You sign up, connect your store with one button, check that your store pages and policies were read, switch on the chat in your theme editor and ask it a few questions. Your products are read live from Shopify, so there is no product list to upload, and the bot answers where is my order, returns and product questions in the shopper's language.

In short: 5 minutes, no code, 5 steps.
- 1.Create your account and choose Shopify
- 2.Connect your store
- 3.Check what it learned from your store
- 4.Switch the chat on in your theme
- 5.Ask it three questions

1 minuteNo codeThis is the only form you fill in.
Do this
- 1Open get.simplyboost.io and choose Create account. Prefer Google? Choose Continue with Google and skip the email step.
- 2Type your work email and a password of 8 characters or more.
- 3Open the email we send and click the link. It works for 24 hours.
- 4On the first screen, Where do you want to start?, pick Shopify.
You should see: Your dashboard, with Shopify as the starting point.
Good to know: Already have an account? Sign in and open Shopify in the left sidebar instead.
- 2
Connect your store
1 minuteNo codeIn the app:Channels › Shopify
One button. Shopify asks you to approve the app and you are straight back.
Do this
- 1Type your store address, for example yourshop.myshopify.com.
- 2Choose which agent the store belongs to. A new account has one.
- 3Choose Connect with Shopify.
- 4Approve the app in Shopify. You return to SimplyBoost with order lookups and product recommendations switched on.
You should see: The Shopify page shows your store as connected.
Good to know: Prefer to start inside Shopify? Open Apps, then SimplyBoost, in your Shopify admin. A new merchant gets an account and an assistant named after the store.
- 3
Check what it learned from your store
1 minuteNo codeIn the app:Train › Knowledge Base
Your store pages, policies and description are added to the agent's knowledge by themselves.
Do this
- 1Open Train, then Knowledge Base.
- 2Look for your store pages and policies. They turn Ready after about a minute.
- 3Notice there is no product list. Products are read live from Shopify, with their live descriptions, variants and stock.
- 4Changed a policy later? Open the Shopify source and choose Sync now. The store also syncs on its own every week.
You should see: Your store pages and policies listed as Ready.
Good to know: A size guide or a delivery PDF makes answers better. You can add it after you are live, in the optional steps below.
- 4
Switch the chat on in your theme
1 minuteNo codeNo code here either. Shopify has a switch for it.
Do this
- 1On the Shopify page in SimplyBoost, choose Add widget.
- 2In the Shopify theme editor, open App embeds.
- 3Switch on SimplyBoost Chat and choose Save.
- 4Open your store in a new tab and look for the chat button in the corner.
You should see: The chat button on your live store.
Good to know: Do not see it? Check that the embed is switched on and saved, then reload the page.
- 5
Ask it three questions
1 minuteNo codeTest it the way a customer would.
Do this
- 1Ask a product question, for example Do you have this jacket in medium? You get a product card with Add to cart and a cart with Go to checkout.
- 2Ask Where is my order? and give an order number and the email on the order. You see the status and the tracking. With only the email, it first asks for a code we send to that address.
- 3Ask something your store never mentions. It says what it can help with and offers to bring in your team.
You should see: A right answer, a right order status and an honest answer when it does not know.
Good to know: Use a real test order from your own store, so you see the real tracking link.
That is it. You are live.
Here is what you have now.
- Your store connected, with products read live from Shopify
- Your store pages and policies in the knowledge base, synced every week
- The chat on every page of your store
- Order status, returns and product questions answered in the shopper's language
- Your team alerted when a person is needed
