AI support for mobility scooter importers and dealers. Fault codes, spare parts, batteries and range answered from your own manuals, before the user calls.

Importers and dealers of mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs hear the same questions every day: what does fault code 7 mean, which battery fits, how far will it go on a charge, where do I get the part. Users, their families and dealers already ask them, in search engines and on the phone. SimplyBoost answers from your own owner manuals, service manuals, fault code lists and parts catalogue, on your website, inside your signed-in dealer portal or on WhatsApp, in Dutch, French, German, Spanish or English. Repairs, warranty claims and every question about someone's health go to a person with the full conversation.

My City 4 scooter won't drive and the battery lights flash seven times. What does that mean?
On the City 4, seven flashes means the controller sees a fault in the throttle circuit. Switch the scooter off, wait ten seconds, and switch it on again without touching the throttle lever. If it still flashes seven times, do not keep trying: the scooter needs a service visit.
Source: Owner manual City 4, Fault indicators
Still seven flashes. Can someone come and look at it?
I'm passing this to the service team with your model and the fault, and they will contact you today to plan a visit. Is your scooter your own, or was it supplied through your municipality?

Example: a fault indicator question from a user, answered from the importer's own owner manual, then handed to service.

What do users and dealers ask a mobility scooter importer?

  1. 1

    What the fault means

Many controllers report a fault as a number of flashing lights on the battery display, not as text on a screen. The agent looks the count up in your fault code list by controller and model, and says what the user may check according to your manual and what is for the technician.

  2. 2

    Which part or battery fits

Tyres, brakes, lights, chargers and battery sets by model and year, from your parts catalogue and exploded views: the part number, the capacity and the models it fits.

  3. 3

How far it goes and how to charge

Range, charging time, charging in winter, a battery that no longer charges fully: answered from your owner manual and battery instructions, with the values you give per model.

  4. 4

    Who repairs it

A private buyer gets the dealer in their area from your dealer list. A user whose scooter came through the municipality or the health insurer is pointed to the supplier on their agreement, as your documents describe.

Which rules should the answers know?

The agent answers only from the documents you give it. Keep the road rules and funding routes for each country in their own document, so every answer fits the user's country. These are the rules as published on 27 October 2026.

Netherlands: on the road

A mobility scooter is a gehandicaptenvoertuig: at most 1.10 metres wide and 45 km/h. At most 6 km/h on the pavement and 30 km/h on a cycle path in built-up areas. No licence and no number plate, but third-party (WA) insurance with the insurer's sticker. Above 10 km/h the driver must be at least 16.

Netherlands: through the municipality

A user who needs a scooter to stay independent applies at the municipality's Wmo desk. The municipality often rents the scooter from a supplier, which stays the owner and handles maintenance and repair. Conditions differ per municipality.

Flanders: Flemish social protection

The electric scooter falls under Flemish social protection. The application goes, with a prescription, through a recognised supplier to the user's zorgkas, which also contributes to maintenance and repair by a recognised supplier.

Germany: licence and insurance

Motorised invalid carriages up to 15 km/h, single-seat, electric and at most 110 cm wide need no driving licence (§ 4 FeV). Compulsory insurance applies above 6 km/h (§ 1a PflVG), and they run with an insurance plate (§ 4 FZV).

Germany: through the Krankenkasse

A doctor writes a prescription and supply runs through a contract partner of the health insurer. Invalid and disability vehicles are product group 18 of the GKV Hilfsmittelverzeichnis. The insurer decides on the application, not the agent.

Medical device rules

Manufacturers classify mobility scooters as class I medical devices under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, and EN 12184 is the European standard for powered wheelchairs, scooters and their chargers. So the agent gives no medical advice and never says whether a model suits a person.

What happens when someone asks about their health?

The agent answers technical questions from your manuals and spec sheets. Questions about a condition, a disability or whether a model suits someone go to your advisers, in the user's own language.

  • Maximum user weight, seat height, turning circle and climbing ability are quoted only as your spec sheet states them, with the source.
  • Safety reports, such as brakes that do not hold or a hot or swollen battery, get the safety instruction from your manual and go straight to your service team.
  • Family members often ask on behalf of a parent; they get the same answers from your documents.

Example

Example: a German-speaking customer asking about suitability, handed to an adviser.

What does your service team see?

Fewer calls, and the ones that arrive come with the model, the fault and the conversation already attached.

  • Repairs, warranty claims and parts orders as a Zendesk or Freshdesk ticket, or a Slack thread.
  • Missing answers: the fault patterns and questions your manuals did not cover, often the sign that a manual page is due.
  • Every dealer contact with company and country on the Leads page, exported to CSV or sent to your CRM.

Which plan does an importer need?

Starter

500 AI replies a month

Website chat, WhatsApp and Instagram, lead capture, bookings, handover, actions and webhooks

Growth

Also covers this

€89a month

Pro

Also covers this

€169a month

€135 a month billed yearly

6,000 AI replies a month

Everything in Growth, plus analytics export and dedicated support

Every plan includes 3 AI agents, document upload, handover and WhatsApp, so the public website, the dealer portal and a technician line can each have their own agent. Importers with a large network usually take the enterprise plan: more replies, a dedicated account manager, help with the rollout and, by agreement, your own name and logo on the chat.

How do you set it up?

  1. 1Setup

    Upload the documentation

Owner and service manuals, fault code lists by controller, the parts catalogue with exploded views, battery and charging instructions, warranty conditions, a document with rules and funding routes per country, and a CSV of models, years and dealers.

  2. 2Setup

Put it in the dealer portal

Add the chat to signed-in pages only. Dealers and service technicians are recognised by their verified email; the chat resets when they sign out.

  3. 3Setup

    Open a line on WhatsApp

Connect a WhatsApp Business number through Meta's own signup, for the technician at a user's home and for users themselves. The same agent answers from the same manuals.

  4. 4Setup

    Route service to your team

Send repair requests, warranty claims, parts orders and health questions to the right team in Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias or Slack.

What should an importer measure?

What to measure in your first month
  • Calls avoidedConversations that ended without a handover, per month, next to the call volume at your service desk.
  • Faults per modelSearch conversations by model name and fault code to see which model needs a better manual or a service bulletin.
  • Gaps in the documentationMissing answers shows what users and dealers asked that no file covered.
  • Handovers by reasonRepairs, warranty and personal advice counted apart, so each team sees its real workload.

Common questions, answered

Yes, when your fault code list by controller and model is in your documents. The agent asks for the model and the number of flashes or the code, gives the meaning and what the user may check, and hands the rest to your service team.

No. It answers technical questions from your manuals and spec sheets. Questions about health, a disability or personal suitability go to your advisers with the conversation, and it refers the user to their own doctor or occupational therapist.

Yes, when your catalogue names the models and years per part number. Upload it as PDF or a CSV of part numbers, models and years. It mentions stock and prices only when they are in your documents.

What you set down. In the Netherlands a Wmo scooter is often owned by the municipality's supplier, which handles repairs; in Germany supply runs through the health insurer's contract partner. The agent asks how the scooter was supplied and points the user to the right place.

Yes. It replies in Dutch, French, German, Spanish or English from one set of manuals. Keep each country's road rules and funding route in their own document so every answer fits the user's country.

It quotes your warranty conditions, collects the model, serial number, purchase date and fault, and hands it to your service team in Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias or Slack with the whole conversation.
